Prayers for healing, wholeness and well-being
If you feel you would like to pray for your own well-being or for those who are unwell and may need your prayer, please come to Church House in Hutton Rudby to join others in prayer.
Every first Tuesday of the month at 10.00am we pray for healing, wholeness and well-being during the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. This service is led by priests of the Whorlton Benefice and is open for all.
Healing, reconciliation and restoration are integral to the Good News of Jesus Christ. For this reason prayer for people and their well-being has a proper place within the public prayer of the Church. God’s gracious activity of healing is to be seen both as part of the proclamation of the Good News and as an outworking of the presence of the Spirit in the life of the Church.
Acts of healing in the Gospels are intimately related to the restoring of individuals to a place of worth within the social order. “By His wound you have been healed” makes powerful links between human pain and vulnerability and the saving impact of Jesus’ own suffering.
